Year The Internet Was Invented

The internet in its present form is a result of several interesting events. The story involves an enormous numbers of scientists, researchers, grad students – even politicians.
The story has its roots in the Cold War when in 1950 the war was at its height; the DoD (The U.S. Department of Defense) was looking for a command-and-control network that could survive even a nuclear war. The U.S. officials felt this need during the Cold War that a military network which could be trusted during the war is essential.

year the internet was bornSo in 1960 DoD made a contract with RAND Corporation to find a solution. Paul Baran, one of the employees of RAND, came up with a solution. The idea was to invent a network highly distributable and fault-tolerant design.
The idea of Baran was presented to DoD in the form of several reports. The officials at Pentagon took interest in the design and called AT&T (the only US telephone network monopoly at that time)to build a prototype, but AT&T laughed at the design solution of Baran and refused to implement it declaring the design impossible to be built. Years went by but DoD could not invent a better command-and-control system.

year the internet was bornWhen the US President took the matter in his hands…
Lets’ go back in 1957. Yes, the year when the Soviet Union beat U.S in the space war by launching first artificial satellite Sputnik. The US president was appalled by this hit and tried to find out what was going on in his country’s research labs. He got fumed to know that the research funds had been squabbled over by the Navy, Military, and the Air Force. So, he decided to make one, single research organization and named it ARPA.

That’s when the real progress got started. ARPA contacted various experts and one of these experts, Wesley Clark, suggested a solution.

The idea was bought by ARPA and first subnet (the very first form of internet) consisting of some computers were joined together with 56kbps transmission lines was implemented and was named ARPANet. This network was implemented in December  1969. Since ARPAnet was the very first form of internet so we can call the year 1969 the year of internet’s invention.

Why Hasn’t The Internet Invented…?
Tonight I was thinking about Empire Records; specifically about the blinds in Joe’s office. When closed they had a message in big, bold letters; “Work”. That got me thinking about Empire Records in general.

Al Gore Invented Internet Technology
That’s right, since Al Gore invented the Internet… I know, I know, that is the old Al Gore joke where he famously claimed that he invented the World Wide Web. Everyone knows that AL Gore had little to do with the Internet, of course.

Who invented the Internet
This act finally removed restrictions to commercial use of the Internet, so in some ways Gore can be included amongst those who directly contributed to the invention of the Internet. Learn about the complete history of the internet.

The history of Karaoke tells us that the practice to sing along the recorded music is been here as long as the recording itself. Karaoke should not be confused with lip synching, as in lip synching the artist does not sing itself but mimics the vocals in the song being played.

First karaoke was invented by a Japanese drummer Daisuke Inoue in early 1970s.
